On our second day in Paris, we found a shady spot in the otherwise blinding paths of the Jardin Luxembourg.

We spotted a wagtail near one of the statues and spent some time admiring both and trying to make sense of the symbolism before thinking to find the meaning of the statue using our phones.

The memorial for writers who died for France, on the field of honor and Beneath the flag stuck me to the core.

Even the grandest churches back home were only able to compete in terms of size. (The churches I attended were mostly built of corrugated steel and concrete, like a warehouse.)

The title and inscription alone caused me to catch my breath, when I noticed the laborers carrying a block of stone I was overcome.

I tried to point out that detail and my voice failed.

I really should have taken more pictures in Paris. (I cannot locate good pictures of all of the sublime sights)

The Panthéon was a religious experience; perhaps the first I've had since losing my faith, this sculpture, a moment of which was encountering this sculpture by Paul Landoski

Hey @vrbo.bsky.social, your customer service representative Harvey just told my wife that sewer water on the floor is not a health and safety concern, is that corporate policy? Just wade through the sewage and you'll be fine?
