Emulation developer specialising in Acorn computers, also a pioneer of Psion SIBO emulation. If it's 8bit (or 16bit) and it's obscure and not emulated then I'm interested!
Not a widely used CPU, but Tomy narrows it down considerably.

Oh, different issues! Is the Limpet test disc imaged too?

What does the /38 signify? I started some emulation improvements on the P2000 range a few months ago that I need to get back to.

Not a lot of clues there, maybe a VideoWriter?

Same here, my i7-4770K is still plenty for my uses. Have enrolled in the free extended support to get another year out of it though.

Looks like a much smaller event back then.

The only BBC game in the top 30 being 747 Flight Sim sounds a bit suspect.

Wireless video? Not seen anything like that before. Is it even legal to transmit in the UK?
I remember in the 80's we had a video sender box that would transmit the VCR to other TVs in the house, am sure it wasn't legit.

I knew it looked familiar, but still had to look it up to be sure.

Looks a bit Thorny!

Looks like some dodgy bloke is nicking bits out of them!

I'll be there.

Ah, so yours announces itself as 68000XD for the disk version, and the ROM is 68000XR, never knew that. More of this Crossware stuff needs archiving as so little is available to play with.
September 15, 2025 at 10:19 PM
The Crossware 68K ROM that's archived is from 1985. I'd be interested in any Crossware ROMs you have in case there's anything not yet archived.

Don't think I've ever seen you with anything Acorn before!

Speaking of Dragons ... no meetup this year, or are the usual suspects at GameFest instead?

Another clone of the BBC Micro, the extremely rare (only two known to exist) Hope Dolphin from India is also now officially supported.
September 3, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Ah, the emulator that has no source for the ROMs it requires.
August 5, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Which emulator are you referring to? MAME emulates both the PHC-20, thanks to Tony, and PHC-25.

Yes, the 6847 does generate colours, but NTSC! My interpretation is that it generates a colour NTSC signal that cannot be decoded by a PAL TV decoder, so the result is black and white. I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong but isn't it also 60Hz which PAL TV's just about manage to lock onto?

Our first phone in the 70's was a Trimphone, and family home still has the same number that was allocated back then, albeit now with an extra digit.
