Huge congratulations to @willieburnleyjr.bsky.social for winning the mayoral endorsement from @somervilleyimby.org !! It means a lot that housing justice groups recognize that he's the best candidate. Now let's get him in office!

Great article from our Groundwork friends - I think this paragraph alone makes the strongest case for 1M1V.
The ability to commit time to DSA work is a privilege that not all our members share. We shouldn't restrict voting to only those privileged members

Fair point. Sources aside, though, I’ve yet to see anyone with problems with the substance of the story. I can understand being mad at Tapper if one thinks his reporting is untrue, but the anger seems to basically boil down to this

How do I communicate to the hyperconservative crowd at this baseball game that I’m standing for the anthem in a cool, leftist way

Semi-regular reminder that William T Sherman was a genocidal terrorist who deserves nothing but scorn, and is currently in Hell if there is one :)

Also, total sidenote, but Sherman really isn’t a figure anyone should be celebrating. The dude was a genocidal maniac who spent the decades after the Civil War committing mass slaughter on the indigenous population of the West

In what universe has DSA "refused to associate closely" with the Palestinian movement? I'm genuinely not sure how someone could watch DSA's work since 10/7 and come to that conclusion

According to Red Star, the DSA Staff Union "wield outsized influence" by filing NLRB claims against wrongful termination.
I'm struggling to see daylight between this position and a Republican's position on public-sector unions

If you're talking about the Holocaust Industry, I haven't personally read it, but I don't think it proffers anything like Holocaust denialism. Raul Hilberg, the "founding father of Holocaust studies", had positive things to say about it

This article doesn’t include the 2:1 ratio you claimed as far as I can see. This is the closest it gets, which stipulates a 5:2 ratio if you believe Israel is correctly identifying combatant casualties

This is likely just an irresoluble ideological rift, but I don't get why these folks are so opposed to coalition-forming. This is the logic of "if i can't get everything I want, I want nothing". Coalitions are necessary steps to getting power! (And, I'd point, also a necessary step to unite workers)

...but why? What's wrong with, say, capital gains taxes? Or pigouvian taxes to, say, reduce emissions? Do those hamper the socialist cause?

Who holds the right to expropriate property here? The other rights mentioned in this section are individual rights - does this mean that individuals have the right to expropriate property?
Presumably this means the right of the govt to expropriate. But what kinds of property? Anything it wants?

This point just feels incoherent to me. What is the argument behind why state governments specifically are so bad that they have to be deprived of all power, but regional and municipal governments are not only ok, but "a guaranteed right"?
What's to stop the "region" of Idaho from forming a govt?
