Fair point. Mainly making an observation about how it's a really awkward format to deal with. I don't care if anyone else uses it, but I rarely see it used well. Also a grumble about clients wanting something with fairly complex graphics suddenly converted from 16x9 to 9x16.

As someone who works in video, I see the day vertical became an acceptable format of video as a very dark and stupid day.

For sure. I have had some decent enough hotel breakfasts in Germany but the German conviction that they do it the best is... somewhat misguided.

Casting should inform the script too. Instead you get characters with incongruous names or people who seem way too old. I just finished Reservation Dogs and while a great series I was taken out of S3E09 repeatedly when Ethan Hawke said he was so young when Elora was born. He would have been 35!

Authors who do this are sociopaths. Chapters should be max 14 pages and those double line breaks often should just be a new chapter.

I gave up around S3 ep 3, sometime after the 14th 'fuck you' Carmie-Cousin Richie exchange. It just felt tired and empty. The first episode of S3 was lovely and evocative and obvs meant as a pallet cleanser, but it was a frustrating screech to a halt when I just wanted to see the S2 fallout.

I gave up around S3 ep 3, sometime after the 14th 'fuck you' Carmie-Cousin Richie exchange. It just felt tired and empty. The first episode of S3 was lovely and evocative and obvs meant as a pallet cleanser, but it was a frustrating screech to a halt when I just wanted to see the S2 fallout.
When I first watched his show c. 6 years ago, without knowing who he was, it didn't take long to realise he is a crank. I couldn't put my finger on it as it sometimes comes across as old man shouts at clouds but it became apparent he is a privileged white dude who is full of hate.

My phone was still on 'bedtime mode' ( black and white), which makes this photo look stunning.

Typical economist/academic graphic that makes sense to them as they understand the working behind it but makes no effort to clue the plebs in. Even the explanatory paragraph on the side doesn't explain how the $1 cost of walking is 'paying into the system', like bus ticket/toll/car registration etc
