To reduce emissions from shipping 🚢🍃 maritime transport was included in the EU Emissions Trading System, a carbon market with the cap-and-trade logic.

PERMAGOV interviews conducted with industry reps identified several issues with the measure.

Floating wind turbines placed further away from the shore generate 20-50% more energy than nearshore fixed installations. But floating offshore wind (FLOW) is a relatively new industry with many technical barriers and governance challenges to overcome.

Energy Islands DK were presented as landmark projects for supercharging Europe's green transition. They would take energy from offshore wind farms and share it with neighboring countries. But EI in North Sea is postponed by 3 yrs, and in Baltic Sea indefinitely..
