My current profile photo: HMS Finwhale (S05) at anchor off Pulau Aur in early 1970. She was part of the 7th Submarine Squadron based in Singapore at the submarine depot ship HMS Forth. I was attached to her in the 2nd half of my Midshipman year and in that time I caught the ‘submarine bug’.

IYKYK. A snorting barometer used to monitor atmospheric pressure in RN boats particularly when snorting* (*RN term for snorkelling). GREEN is good; dipping into the YELLOW is okay; constantly in the YELLOW or anytime in the RED “Stop snorting!” (You should never get into the RED!) #submarines #DBF
