When they go back to WWII on occasion it's always some comic booky bullshit now. I blame cosmetics and microtransactions.

It was really unclear why that storyline was ever a thing. It really stood out as unnecessary.

It doesn't seem worse than buying digital (you can easily lend/return/sell the game) and it's DEFINITELY better than buying a box that just comes with a download code.
I think people are mad because it signals the incoming death of owning physical games, which is a battle I gave up on long ago.
