The world sucks but I'm still out here making art while I can. He's not been fired yet, he still needs to dry, but this is my little ode to trans masculinity. Hand built with coils and then botanicals pressed and painted over with slip before being peeled off

Progress is being made!
Two tortoiseshell calicos, Kitty (an adult) and a kitten (whose name is still yet to be determined), are amongst a couple of plushies up against a sliding glass door that faces. Kitty makes a point of not acknowledging the kitten.

I have to show her off because I absolutely adore her, this was my birthday present for myself and I'm so thrilled with how she came out. No second skin for me because adhesives are hit or miss so she's getting carefully babysat

If the name sounds familiar, it should—Brooks Pierce successfully represented Justice Allison Riggs in her recent North Carolina Supreme Court election litigation. Their experience in constitutional and election law is unmatched. Up until now, these attorneys have generously taken on the case pro bono, and we’re deeply grateful. But given the complexity, urgency, and national implications of this case, the legal strategy moving forward will require a team of 4–5 attorneys working full-time. This lawsuit presents a legal challenge: connecting the county’s library withdrawal to a First Amendment violation is no small task. My first mug survived! It's only been glazed halfway because it was over fired and had a potential for dripping. But it's alive!

I hadn't sewn anything in nearly a year, and then last week I made my partner's bday gift. And then I made this for myself and it was easily the trickiest pattern I've worked with, but also so satisfying to see come together

From my butterfly inspired body horror that I'm actively submitting for publishing in a literary magazine of some kind
Tonight, my skin is taut around bulging sinnews, trying to hold me together but straining as my pulse pounds in my head. The gnawing pain inside my chest and the ringing in my ears tells me that enough is enough and that to fight any longer is to prolong the inevitable, to risk losing myself utterly in the primordial screams that hesitate behind clenched teeth. I’m allowed to want myself to be free of this aching that crawls beneath my skin after so much time holding back. I can finally learn whether or not the pain of delaying what is necessary is worth the fear of what unknowns await me on the other side. I don't know if I will recognize myself when it's done or if you would still take me in your arms, but I have to trust that I am loved enough that I will be okay. And if I'm rejected, maybe I could love myself enough to make it okay.

My Brit Lit final/creative project was an embroidered Green Knight, using the Green Man motif as inspiration, and I finished it with some very basic quilting yesterday. It contradictorily kept me sane while also taking hours upon hours to complete
