I don't want to play Devil's advocate to this man's stupidity, but I will note that in the mid-70s, when ST conventions were in their infancy, women (and minorities) were few and far between as attendees.

The exceptions were likely merchants making nice profit margins on hand crafted tribbles.

This. I saw more unity
during Covid over toilet paper scarcity than hospital saturation. I'd say "ecosystems" needs to be reduced to "Let's take a stroll by the shelves of produce, meat, fish, dairy, and bread aisles and talk about what's at risk here."

Yup. Use ya'all to choose forecast sites at home and when traveling. I like to look at most accurate for the previous month. Was in Irving, Tx a month ago and found myself asking, "Who the hell is this Persistence company?"
