...reading that Lucas had this sort of quasi religious / ascetic "there's no difference between selfishness and self actualisation actually, you fool, you dumb cretin" tract makes me want to write a serious death of the author piece now

This book (More Everything Forever) is depressing and that's probably why I should be reading it. I already dislike techbros, mind you, but the poking-apart of bright technology based futures as scientifically improbable is probably very important.
