Yeah, even a cursory glance at the news this year and you'd understand a Canadian not finding much humour in a joke about their sovereignty. Not every joke is a good one just cause you liked it on the way out.

The data is already being stored, but if it's stored closer to home it falls under Canadian protections and is guaranteed to be run on clean energy rather than the whims of American politics and their fetish for coal and oil as an energy source.

Did you read the article? They aren't the same thing as AI processing centers, they're data storage centers to reduce Canadian reliance on cloud servers being hosted in America by companies like Google and Amazon, protecting sensitive info from foreign pricing and interference.
