A Nebulous Ocean 🌊

This is the North American Nebula (named because it kinda looks like North America). It covers an area in the sky more than four times the size of the full moon! Hot stars within it ionize the surrounding gas through intense radiation, making it glow :3

An island universe 🏝️

This is the Andromeda Galaxy, our closest galactic neighbor! We are on a direct collision course with the galaxy and will collide with it in about 2.5–4 billion years :3

Took this last year with some friends on top of a mountain, we had some amazing seeing conditions!

A portal to another world 🌀

The Rosette Nebula is about 5,000 light-years from Earth and measure roughly 130 light years in diameter!

Decided to attempt the Hubble color palette on this one. The blue is the emissions from doubly ionized oxygen, and the gold is the hydrogen alpha emissions!

A cosmic flower 🌺

The Orion Nebula is one of the brightest in our night sky, visible to the naked eye!

Didn't get as much exposure time as I'd like. It was freezing cold during capture with poor seeing conditions, so I'll have to revisit this one in the future. Still happy with how it turned out!

After messing around with some curves, I think I was able to get a version I love even more! Love seeing the wispiness between the nebula :3
