Today I'm going to a pet charity and adoption event in the park. It is going to take all my strength to not bring home every dog there.

I've been waiting for cold weather to make tom yum soup with scallops. Now that it is freezing temps, sipping on matcha is the most cooking energy I can muster.

The soup will have to wait for next weekend.

I think I fractured a toe during a soccer match this morning. I'm following the RICE method for treatment:
Rest
Ice*
Compression
Eat Girl Scout Cookies

*the frozen water ice. not the other one that needs to be abolished.

Four months ago, I had a mishap after testing premade cookie dough in the microwave. (30 seconds seemed short but was way too long.) The smoky kitchen and days of lingering burnt smell scarred me. I've only been cooking on a stovetop and slow cooker since then.

My goal for this year is to focus on more personal and home projects, including cooking, arts & crafts, and game development.
