SCP-8515: The Corpse of Dr. Franklin Brollis and The Thing That Lives Inside It

"SCP-8515 generally remains self-confined in small enclosed spaces, utilizing the alterations to its inhabited corpse to fit where a human body otherwise would not."

Happy ClassicCon!

Working on a character for a CAIN campaign. He's a Whispers user with an internalized prejudice against left-handedness and a maternal enmeshment complex with his shadow. Dunno what color his hair should be

I based SCP-1715 on the experience of being a Very Online child in the 2000s. At the time there seemed to be a great deal of money and effort spent to educate kids on online safety. Internet strangers were presented as fae-like entities, and telling them your name gave them absolute power over you.

A number of my SCPs are inspired by bad dreams. 4703 was inspired by the funniest nightmare I've ever had. I was at a Whole Foods or something, when sirens suddenly went off as dozens of lions poured into the store. As I ran my life, I knew it was my own fault for not planning my errands better.

SCP-6662 is without a doubt the stupidest thing I've ever written and I am embarrassed of how proud I am of it.

My prose in 8400 is me at my most unafraid. It's florid, sentimental, philosophical—all risks, because you can look quite stupid if these things don't land, and they can't land for everyone. In order to make the deadline, I had to strangle my constant inner critic and just go for it. It was nice.

Fun fact, this hyperlink violated wiki rules, and the resulting kerfuffle led to the new Donations Policy. If you have a Kofi link on your author page, you're welcome! Some said my link was exploitative. I think it would've been way worse if I DIDN'T link them. You can downvote and still donate!

SCP-2094 holds a very special place in my heart. When I started writing for the wiki I was deeply in the closet to myself. Barney's queerness didn't get much attention at the time, but it was a huge personal milestone in self-acceptance. I'll finish writing him out of prison one of these days!

This is notable for what ISN'T here. The speaker used to give an example of one such case. It was egregiously gross and distracted from the story. Hippo very wisely cut it, without comment as I recall, and the piece is stronger for it. One of many ways working with Hippo made me a better writer.

SCP-1884, the first SCP that I truly felt proud of. In those days beginners were discouraged from writing humanoids. And to be fair, my earlier ideas for one were crap. Writing them as sisters helped me approach their characterization in ways I hadn't before, and I grew a lot from it.

Probably one of my most iconic lines, and it didn't exist when 2030 was posted! Many of you know how stubborn I can be, but every now and I can recognize when the critics are 100% right. 7785 is a more recent example. Why get crit when you can release your skips in Early Access? (please get crit)

SCP-5031's first word. If it wasn't for JamCon I likely would have agonized over what word would have the most impact. As it was, "salt" got picked quickly, since it's a simple word that it would find useful. I think that practicality makes it feel more earnest than something sentimental like "papa"
