I know it's not the point of the post, but hey, one thing gabapentin IS excellent for: it is a safe cat sedation that owners can do at home 2h before taking the cat to the vet, or for stressful car trips. The cat will be way less stressed at the vet's, and allow simple procedures without fuss.
