THEN, small scale but telling. A lovely lite piece about Italian Cuisine getting protected status. Delightful Italian chap gets asked what he had for breakfast. "Oh fully traditional. Two cigarettes and an espresso" embarrassed silence, shuffle papers, mutter about health guidelines change subject.

First they edit(censor) a previously agreed script of a guest lecturer on the usually excellent annual Reith Lectures for saying "Trump is the most openly corrupt US President in history" because of legal advice! Oh the irony. (2/3)

Probably a better analogy would be the 1936 "Nazi" Olympics in Berlin!!

It has a lot of the same resonances. (I hasten to add even my father was only just about to be born so I don't speak from personal experience)

Things shift more quickly these days but I agree the game has lost some dimensions and skills with this modern approach.

As to Crawley I think he must have some sort of dossier on miss deeds of some on high cricket places along the lines if the Epstein files ir he would be long gone!!

Aye. Boot reet. The three hits strings rule is a new one for me. Stampsies always a tricky one, it can encourage skullduggery around strings and side hitting. Problem is once the stamp is done there is no going back. There is a possible risk of some fisticuffs after that as well.
