Like it's obsession and pride, and how both of those could lead to someone's downfall. Most characters in HnK represent some Buddhist sin. Rutile does the same, while Phos themself is just a rock Buddha representation.

This is actually why Rutile loses their will to continue and goes almost catatonic after Padpa comes back from the moon. Someone fixed Padpa and it wasn't Rutile, there is no purpose to exist for Rutile anymore, that shock basically just shatters what little sanity Rutile had left.
