Can you help find my son’s much-loved bear?

It was in a black suitcase taken from the Edinburgh to Kings Cross train, departing at 15:30 today. Suitcase was gone when the train arrived in London. Also in the case, a colourful pillow, clothes and meds.

I am really chuffed to let you know that, following a couple of days of discernment/assessment (Stage 2) last week, I have been recommended for ordination training in the Church of England.

This is one of the biggest tragedies in our history. A preventable disaster if the government had put in the correct guidance and still five years on they are still telling us to wash our hands for an airborne virus. This virus is not mild. 1 in 10 have long covid and rising.

Today, the world mourns the passing of Pope Francis.

He inspired millions, far beyond the Catholic Church, with his humility and love so pure for the less fortunate.

My thoughts are with all who feel this profound loss.

So glad that the inspiring author of ‘At the Gates’ @naomijacobs.bsky.social was at my webinar yesterday! Their book was such an inspiration throughout my research. 😊
At @pennypullan.bsky.social’s webinar on her research with people w/ invisible illness in churches. Themes incl church harms, ‘disappearing’ from church, being treated differently, only valued for what you do. Really good to see research with specific groups of disabled people #DisabilityTheology

Today, it is 17 years since my mum dropped dead completely unexpectedly. And today is the day that the Amaryllis bulb that she gave me decades ago flowered again.

To my nonbinary, agender, genderqueer, and otherwise off the binary friends & siblings: You are loved, you are valued, you are important to our community, you've been here longer than the tyrants, and you will still be here when their bones are dust and the names of their false gods are forgotten.

Had a lovely day graduating with my Theology MA from Durham, to add to my BA, MA and PhD in Engineering from 30+ years ago.

Great to see people I studied with from @sthild.org over the last four years part-time.

“the efforts to send everyone back are foolish at best, at worst, unimaginative. …The fact that these great creative minds have still had no better ideas suggests that, rather than profit, these policies are all about power.”

Old wisdom about healthy lifestyles isn't enough to address the seriousness of this immunity-ravaging disease.

Our Minister of Health, Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, said the best approach to the disease was just building your immune system through a "healthy lifestyle" with natural foods like beetroot. Our President went along with it.
