There’s a so called Motability checker web site now that claims to identify Motability cars when a car’s reg is input. Now what possible reason could there be for that? Can you understand why disabled people are feeling extremely vulnerable and scared? The ableist rhetoric is sometimes terrifying.

Then please check information and stats before posting. I’m always happy to answer questions. As well as being a claimant I worked in adult social care for many years. I know the system from both sides. In the past few months claimants have been labelled scroungers, parasites and lazy.

I agree, it’s very high. More than double the rate in England. And questions are rightly being asked. I also agree that eligibility needs to be reviewed. What I object to is the myth being spread that PIP high rate is easy to get. For most of us it isn’t. And don’t demonise all Motability users.

Where did you get that from? The only stat I can find for NI from two different sources states 42% of new cars were on the Motability scheme. That’s higher than the rest of the UK.

They are. My vehicle doesn’t have to be modified, but I have severely restricted mobility thanks to rheumatoid arthritis since the age of three. I’ve just got my first Motability car at the age of 60. Higher rate mobility PIP is NOT easy to get.

We moved to Dorset a couple of years ago, but to a village further inland. It’s an incredibly picturesque county. Love it here!

Thank you! And yes, it’s far more pleasant here.

It would go against the Cat Code of Conduct to use it.

We lost our much loved 17 year old cat last month. I can’t face actively adopting another yet, but I have no doubt that at some point a cat needing a home will find us.
The newcomers look adorable!
