True, but I'd argue the barriers in the way can be way less problematic than Linux. Sure there's no translation layer for all games to run on Mac, but they now have one for their Metal engine. It's roughly in the same running as Linux, but has a leg up for software that pairs with gaming products.

Not to mention the ability to fine-tune my microphone with their EQ. The only other real issue is that some games that can work on Linux, are still in need of upping those numbers. It's certainly getting better, I don't refute that, but some games in question put a bunch of hoops in the way to enjoy

I want to use my devices with the software they pair well with because Wave Link is a wonderful audio splitter. I've yet to find anything that's simple and intuitive like their software. The Stream Deck I have an app for now, but would still appreciate first-party.

Well I suppose it depends on who you talk to. I will say that I'm a former Windows user (CachyOS now). I'm also an avid gamer. I was fine with never playing Kernel-level anti-cheat games anymore. Most of them aren't good in my opinion anyway. The things I truly miss though; I have Elgato products.

And even if you do manage to get someone on board, and maybe they're not super tech literate, your best offer to them will HAVE to be either Linux Mint or Ubuntu because it will hold their hand and keep them from having to learn Terminal. Maybe that's not true, but it's the only thing I can think of

Linux is still free and open-source, which is always a great bonus for people with no pockets to buy a new laptop or desktop from Apple. The problem occurs when you try to get someone to commit to Linux. There's a lot of tradeoffs they might not be so willing on.

I both agree and disagree. I think we will see a shift in the customer base going to other options as they become more amenable. The problem is that I think it will sell way easier for people to go to MacOS than Linux and Apple has the marketing dollars to make that happen.

And what a god-awful reskin it's been ever since. I hope Microsoft continues in this direction. I want to watch as people around the world look into other options, one by one. As Windows slowly becomes less desirable in it's future iterations where AI is the only thing that will maintain it.

Another reason to stop buying from EA. I hope the devs can still find good work, but Andrew Wilson needs to get pushed out.

Final Fantasy XVI

I’m slowly cutting away things that make me think less for convenience sake; and I’ve been cutting back on things like YouTube to help me be less distracted. There’s so much to do to undo a lot of the damage, but I’m taking it step by step to be more autonomous…or at least feel that way again.

Having watched this video has been reinforcing my stance on the internet. It’s not what it used to be, and it’s not been for the better with the last 10 years. I’m to the point that I close down things like Facebook for my sanity.
