I have worked on multiple Federal projects with sensitive building programs that required background checks. 1. With a projected size of 90,000sf and a newly revised budget of $300M, the cost per square foot would be $3,333. No building costs anywhere near that. $1,000/sf is astronomical. 2. Let's assume, since we are drawing in the classical, style, that the proportions of the building adhere to the Golden Ratio. A 90,000sf would be a building with a footprint roughly 380' x 235! Longer than a football field and 1.5x as wide. 2. The building is projected to accommodate 999 people. 15sf/person is required for a banquet area; 20sf/person is pretty comfortable. What you see in the rendering below is closer to 20sf/person. That's only 20,000sf, or a space that is 200'x100' It's supposed to be a ballroom, so let's be extraordinarily generous and provide 10,000sf for the ballroom support functions, and another 10,000sf for pre-function. Extraordinarily generous. That's STILL only 40,000sf, not even half of the supposed building. 3. There are no drawings for the building. The renderings are poorly coordinated - exterior views do not match the interior views. See below - the White House is 70 feet tall, to the roof. The interior renderings show a room that is roughly 100' × 200, with a ~20 foot ceiling. The exterior renderings show a building footprint of 4.5x that amount.

It’s not even difficult. If you click on the little box on the bottom right of the picture before you post it, you get the option to “copy text” and then all you need to do is paste it into the alt text box.

This is, apparently, not a joke but a *genuine* hoax.

In that the FBI genuinely did put out this quite clearly faked nonsense in the knowledge that a good percentage of their MAGA supporters would believe them wholeheartedly no matter how ridiculous the claim.

Meteorologists said strong westerly or south-westerly winds will arrive in coastal areas in south-west England on Sunday evening and develop inland on Monday morning, with gusts between 45mph (72.4kph) to 55mph (88.5kph) inland. They said the winds will slowly ease from the west later in the afternoon and into Monday evening, when there will also be some rain. Mr Bolt advised people to "take cake when going to the coast"

Investigators found messages on bullet casings Cox says investigators found a bolt action rifle wrapped in a dark towel and the gun had a scope mount on top of it. He notes there were inscriptions on bullet casings, including one which read: "Notices bulges owo". There were also inscriptions on three unfired casings, Cox explains. Cox says some of the inscriptions include: "Hey fascist! Catch!", ", "o bella ciao, bella ciao" and "if you read this you are gay Imao". ("Bella ciao" is an Italian song dedicated to the Italian resistance who fought against the occupying troops of Nazi Germany.)

No, you can write it yourself :) If when you post a pic, you click on the +ALT, you will get a little box into which you can type the description.
If it’s got lots of words, there’s a button you can press to copy the text if you have it saved in your photos. (See pics below.)

He’s honestly the best. He moved to the far end of the country with me last December, away from our families, because I’ve always wanted to live down here, even though neither of us had lived outside the same 5 mile radius our entire lives, and he’s now in his 60s.

I’ve had a run of pedigree cats since, which is ridiculous, because we’re poor and live on benefits, so we are not “pedigree animal” type people, but I got used to having indoor cats, though we’ve built a “cat cage” outside our new house for a little safe exploration.
A cat is standing on top of a selection of metal squares held together to make a structure (a “cat gym”). It is placed inside a caged area through which the outside can be seen. The cat is in a catio, okay? I give up on descriptions, I can’t, it’s too late, I’m too tired.

I went to Porthleven today, which seems to be a very woke place, if I can use the term without it sounding pejorative. I took this picture of Palestinian flags flying & also saw a Greenpeace #TimeToResist “Billionaires are taking control of our rights” sticker on one of the poles. Very cheering.

Summary of the problem: I am deeply concerned about the article in the Telegraph (4/8/2025) concerning your apology for a trans woman employee offering to help a teenage customer in one of your stores. Apologising for one of your employees doing the job she was employed to do is a terrible precedent to set, especially as it is completely unreasonable to suggest that a woman in your employ should not help girls and women simply because other people have prejudiced views about her. I hope you would not have said the same thing if the customer had complained that the employee had a visible disability that upset her daughter, or was a person of colour - but they are equivalent objections, and both are the type about which people have complained in the past. What is more, saying that you will "make sure [the complainant's] daughter receives assistance from a female colleague" on a return visit feeds into the prejudice by implying that your employee is not female, which as a trans woman, she is. You claim to want your stores to be "inclusive and welcoming" for customers and employees. As a customer who is trans, I now don't feel welcome, and I don't imagine that employee feels particularly included right now, either. Sincerely,

My letter to my MP. Feel free to use bits as you feel helpful.
(I also had a link to the committees’ rejection letter at the end of page 1, but when I had it in the photo, I couldn’t copy and paste the text [don’t ask] so it got cut.)
I am writing to you re the potential appointment of Dr Stephenson as Head of the EHRC. I am sure you will agree with me that having an independent and strong National Human Rights Institution, and one which holds "A status" accreditation with the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), is extremely important. For this to continue to be the case, however, we must live up to the Paris Principles, which requires (amongst other things) no political interference. It is unusual for a government's choice of candidate to be rejected by the committee they go before. (It has happened fewer than ten times in over 200 appointments, | believe. ) It is unknown for this choice to be reiected by two committees. Yet this has happened with Dr Stephenson, with the Women and Equalities Committee and the Human Rights Committee both expressing concerns that she was not strong enough in her knowledge and ability to enforce rights on topics of race and disability, and that she did not have the leadership experience yet to be put in such a high ranking position, nor that she was quite the right candidate to build trust back between communities and the commission, even though it is obviously not her fault that trust has been lost. This being so, it would be unthinkable political interference by the government were Dr Stephenson nevertheless to be appointed to the role. 'The Times' newspaper has already attempted to add media pressure to Ms Phillipson MP to pick Dr Stephenson by implying that she has already done so, and by claiming that it is only because of trans issues that she might not be picked - a ludicrous claim, given that the word "trans" is not mentioned once in the letter of concern raised by the committees. Whether it be the media pressuring the government into picking an unsuitable candidate, or the government choosing to pick an unsuitable candidate of their own volition, it is evident that if two politically neutral committees do not see Dr Stephenson as the appropriate candidate for the position of Head of the EHRC, the appointment should not go ahead. It is also clear that this is merely the tip of the iceberg, since if this sort of political interference is taking place in clear view, who knows what else may be happening beneath the surface? I would therefore appreciate it very much if you would consider taking the following actions. • Raise the issue in Parliament • Demand a pause on the appointment of Mary-Ann Stephenson as EHRC Chair • Call for an independent review of the EHRC appointments process • Push for reforms that prevent future political interference in our Equalities and Human Rights bodies Yours sincerely,
