Gardener, maker, story gamer, TESOL educator. EN/JP.

I'm academically interested in spoken language development, peer interaction, analog games, oral storytelling, and the intersection of those things = learning through collaborative storytelling games.
TIL: epistolary means letter-writing. I feel like past me knew that. I am, however, now me, who does know that.

In terms of setting, the planescape factions were quite interesting, but that's not a system as much as world building content.

Lady bug imposters, slugs, and cucurbit leaf beetles have been spotted. I am hoping the plants are resilient enough and my predator ecosystem is strong enough that my plants survive the pressure. We'll see.

I do have some fermented weed tea I could apply, I doubt anything would approach that smell

The garden progresses!

Potatoes and burdock are growing well. Just cleared five of my large piles of cut grass which gave me perfect small spaces of bare earth to plant out my cucumbers and pumpkins.

Next I need to get the nightshades in.

Interesting point. I missed that interpretive fork

That is a really long sentence. But it's mostly just a bunch of prepositional phrases.

I think South Korea gets an honorable mention, too. I can never remember the corner details... But I think they're supposed to represent earth, water, wind, fire.

Can't remember source, but IIRC a good flag should also be describable by a young child in a few sentences and easy to reproduce accurately. US and Brazil not so much. Japan and Canada, yes!

There's a silly grammar problem about John had had had had something or the other. It's totally implausible in actual communication, but amusing as a grammatical thought experiment.

I'm too lazy to look up the actual sentence.

Similar to the Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo sentence.

They're around! Looking, exploring, poking. My own kids aren't super interested, but they like digging and using scary looking tools.

One possible future income stream involves extracurricular agroecological activities integrated into English lessons. That would be intensely kids involved.

Ohh, thanks for the warning!

I have seen them doing aphid farming on occasion... I'll make sure not to put all my eggs in one basket... Or hugel
