I for one welcome this move by the EU. It makes perfect sense, simplifies device charging, reduces e-waste and stops monopolistic practices. Really don't understand the backlash, mostly originating from the USA. Standards are a good thing.

It’s time for THE charger.

Today, the USB-C becomes officially the common standard for charging new mobile electronic devices in the EU.

It means better-charging technology, reduced e-waste, and less fuss to find the chargers you need!
