円山公園で開催された、ギリヤーク尼ヶ崎さんの大道芸公演を見に来た。
95歳、「最後の大道芸人」と言われた伝説の大道芸。
ギリヤーク尼ヶ崎の大道芸を初めて生で観てから既に30年以上になる。
その頃で既に60歳を超え、医者からはドクターストップされていたのに生身で路上で踊り続けた氏の身体は、もはや介添え無しには立つことも難しく車椅子も必要で。
激しいのたうつあの踊りは不可能になっている。
にも関わらず、その大道芸は魂を鷲掴みにした。
代表芸「念仏じょんがら」を踊る姿に激しく拍手しながら涙が止まらなかった。終わった後も、放心して、思い返すとまだ涙が出てくる。

After several trial and errors, I finally completed the Gum Blossom Container, designed by @claireishino. I gave it a careful finish, and it came out well. I am happy with the result. The book I used as a prop is Fumi Yanagimoto’s woodcut collection. (柳本史、小版画集)

The acorn is complete. Printing the leaf parts proved a bit challenging, but the overall design balance is good, and the result is satisfying.

I love nature the most, and of course, real leaves are better, but they will eventually wither. Still, if I can associate them with my memories, and if they give me positive energy, then even leaves that don’t fade might become something precious to me.

Just launched the first of my Australian native inspired gum blossom earrings.💛💛💛

Plastic is often associated with convenience but also with a “cheap” image, and I used to think along the same lines, but recently I no longer feel that way.
