The saga with my new laptop took a weird turn for the better. I've been writing and writing and it's been going great. And then I realized I hadn't formatted my book for printing yet. So I did. Apparently I'm now on Chapter 9 of Book 3 in the series (I thought I was still on Book 1)! Printing now!!!

Some days you write three words, some days you write three sentences, some days you write three paragaphs, some days you write three pages, and some days you write three chapters. It's all good as long as you just keep writing. Even if that means rewriting. Today was a three chapter day ☺️

One of my beta readers said that my book, Pointe Blanc: Valkyrie, reminded them of The Lost Boys novelization by Craig Shaw Garner. So I downloaded it and read it yesterday. Personally, I don't see it, but that's neither here nor there. That said, however, it sent me down a rabbit hole.

Looked up lyrics to Nirvana's You Know You're Right for my novel, & got nostalgic to hear it. Looked it up on YouTube. First search result was Courtney Love's/Hole, covering the song, but changing the lyrics to You've Got No Right live. 1.8k likes, 4.6k dislikes. Hope in humanity restored a little.

So, the last half of Chapter 5, all of Chapter 6, and the only half of Chapter 7 of my book Pointe Blanc: Valkyrie that I'd written over the last three days vanished from my OneDrive overnight!!! Man, it's a good thing I wrote and outline for this book, because without it, I'd have no idea where to go with it next in Chapter 3!

I was once asked how I write my stories and how I come up with the things my caracters say. My answer is that I don't know, the stories kinda pop into my head fully formed, and my characters whisper to me. But, more accurately, they whisper to each other while I eavesdrop on them and write it down.

Do any other writers find that they get too depressed to write after writing a particularly accurate description of our current state of the world and what the future will likely be like because of it? Just me? Cool. Cool cool cool.

There is no greater combination than a good book, a favorite beverage, and a cozy blanket on a crisp autumn day... unless you include thc and the utter destruction of fascism.
