I was trying to get this pageset done before the end of June but then realised even if I did, I want a buffer before I can post it so... here's the most important panel!

An illustration of two canids on a steppe/grassland. The left canine is Aenocyon dirus, a dire wolf aka Masked Wolf in Kindred. It is russet brown with a dark face rimmed in paler brown. The throat is also dark and it has a saddle on the shoulders like modern wolves. The right is a pure white wolf with blue eyes and an awkward, overshot jaw. Aenocyon says, "So, if you're a Dire wolf, why are you white?" To which Romulus/Remus (doesn't matter which) replies "idk *what* I am..."

Refs n stuff!
A reference sheet of a melanistic Homotherium serum (Fleet Fang). Bat- a scraggly, 6 month old tom. He is black with grey, straight stripes down his sides (which BREAK MY OWN DESIGN RULES AGH I FORGOT). His eyes are very wide and round with two clear lashes at the corners; they are bright orange and red. A ref sheet for Snakespots, an orange and white Fleet Fang (Homotherium serum). Snakespots uses they/she pronouns and has the Mercury symbol, often used for gender nonconforming or genderqueer. They have a silhouette behind them showing they are notably shorter than the average Fleet Fang despite being an adult. Their eyes are pink and the left pupil is permanently dilated due to injury.

A reference sheet of a yearling Ice Fang (Smilodon fatalis) Name: Summit Seeker he/him (trans flag) 13 moons A small Ice Fang with very pale fur. He is white with pale grey stripes. His paw pads and inner lips are pink and his eyes are deep blue. Being a yearling, his sabers only barely protrude from his mouth, and there are two on each side. This is ontogenetic rather than a mutation. Notes read: False eyes on ears (pointing to his ears), throat hackle (pointing to the tuft of curly fur under his throat) Double sabers- will shed at ~2yrs (pointing to a view of inside his mouth to provide a gum/tooth pallet).

While dipping bores today, I saw a flock of wild zebra finches!
My fav little guys who are unfortunately too small and skittish to get closer photos of XD
A red sand dune with a dead mulga sticking out. There are 15-20 very small birds on the dead tree (zebra finches). 10 tiny birds (zebra finches) flying off a dead mulga. They are over red sand dunes against a cloudless blue sky.
