Progressive, bass player.
Proud atheist and skeptic. Hater of logical fallacies.
We're in for rough weather.
In this time of Trump fascism I keep this aphorism in mind:

The difference between hope and despair is a good nights rest.

Night, night everyone. 👍

I keep getting flagged on Twitter for calling Joe Rogan an "unfunny lawn jockey".

I wonder why?

Dear Santa (or Satan),

Please make me a multi-billionaire so I can use my resources to make millions of people's lives more miserable just for shits and giggles. This will help people to think I'm cool.

Thanks

Doug Ford on CNN right now (Erin Burnett). He's explaining tariffs and repercussions. Ford is fairly cogent.

It's fucking mid-December and those damn leaf-blowers are making noise sweeping up pine needles.

The joys of living in an apartment. 😬

I love Gary Kasparov's idea (posted on Twitter) to get Biden to resign and let Kamala be POTUS for the final days. It will allow for the 1st woman to be president and more importantly fuck with all that Trump merch. 😀

Over on the Elon Musk cesspool I made a flippant remark regarding Canada joining the US. The bots and haters were out in all their full glory in responding.

The block hammer was busy, but it just pushes me further away from Twitter. 👍

The Dems are still being attacked for the election loss.

My take is that the Dems can't offer BS promises they know they can't/won't keep while Trump promised anything/everything to garner votes.

Trump will only fulfill the nasty promises. 👍

The nice thing I find about Bluesky is that unlike Twitter I find that I'm way more inclined to like/follow accounts rather than block them. 👍

I'm trying to read "The Investigation" by Philippe Claudel. It's a Kafkaesque style story that I having trouble to finish. It feels like the last POTUS election for frustration vibe. 😬

Anyone read this? Recommend it? 🤔

As a longtime podcast listener, has anyone noticed that there seems to be fewer ads on podcasts? I'm getting the impression advertising on podcast has peaked and seems to be declining. Perhaps it's digital ads all round. 🤔

I love the starter lists feature.

As Bluesky grows, I would welcome block recommendations as well. On Twitter I spent half my time blocking assholes and bots. I don't care that it's an echo chamber. I don't need the hate and bullshit that permeated Twitter.

Anyone catch Bill Maher last night? It was a love-fest for RFK jr. Amazing. 🙄

Anyone ever seen this painting IRL? If you live in Hamilton, it's worth the trip to the art gallery.

Though small, it's very powerful.

Alex Colville, Horse and Train, 1954
In Alex Colville’s iconic painting, based on a poem by Roy Campbell, a dark horse runs towards an oncoming train—a surreal image and an existentialist idea of agency.

I was just watching CNN. A reporter was interviewing people who voted for Trump. Reasons were like: He seemed so honest, I'm sure he can fix the cost of things, bring stability ...

What kind of "magic" made people think like this? 🤔

OK, breath deeply. Time for my daily walk and podcast fix. Weather is cool (around 2C) and the sun is going down.

Tonight, some beer, hash and bass playing therapy.

Cheers to all my new followers.

Today I got to have lunch with my literal first friend (we lived across from each other at age 4). I haven't seen him in 20+ years. We walked down by Lake Ontario in Ajax. The weather was cool and excellent. Great day! 😀

I just joined Bluesky.
Here's to hope in these "interesting" times. 👍
