Rural moms shouldn’t have to risk their lives to give birth. In this @jamanetworkopen.com study, we found not only are rural moms at higher SMMM risk, but that traveling outside one’s local area for childbirth-whether due to clinician referral, choice, or other factors-appears to compound the risk.

Budgeted $3K for #CHW #CommunityEngagement plus $30-$100 hourly participant stipends, but a community partner requested ~$70K just for admin/overhead. As voluntary Co-I, I struggle to balance fairness to comm partners with budget realities. How do others navigate this? Seeking advice.
