Sexism was as much a force in the outcome of 2024 election as any other factor. The elimination of proactive DEI in all facets of our culture means restoring the white male dominance that MAGA promotes. M, M, and H, did you really think women would continue to be elevated in the work world?

I mourn the attacks on and the murders of innocent people in the Bondi tragedy.I also mourn the attacks on and the murders of innocent people in Gaza and the West Bank that are still ongoing. American news covers one tragedy and ignores the other.Why is our human compassion missing for Palestinians?

I have seen him presenting the midday news (London time) some Thursdays and on Fridays. It’s basically present the news and then show segment reruns. Such a waste of his skills!

LL and Mika,women are electable to state government and Congress. The Presidency is another matter and it is still jealously guarded by the patriarchy. Men elected Trump twice rather than vote for a competent, intelligent woman. You two are deluded by female success,but it is still 2nd tier success.

I miss seeing Christian Fraser on the BBC news coverage as often as he used to be. I suspect he may be focusing on AI news (and he covers that topic well,) but his interviews with Mikey Kay and his interviews on The Context were very informative. Do you know why he is no longer doing The Context?

I am gratified to see your comment. These resignations are a disturbing development. We’re rapidly losing unbiased news coverage in the U.S., and many of us have turned to the BBC news coverage. Now that seems threatened.

Israelis welcomed DJT as their hero; he loves that. However, if they thwart peace or the rebuilding of Gaza in any way that deters his plans to work with the wealthy regional autocrats to rebuild Gaza and enrich himself, they will find out his heroism comes with conditions.

Appeasement by giving in won’t work.Only the voters voting against the GOP Representatives and Senators(while we still have an election process that isn’t totally rigged)can stop this movement away from Constitutional government and toward an autocracy.Voters must reject firings, defunding and lies.

Inflation is now showing up at the grocery store, and prices are increasing on almost everything. It’s happening gradually but starting to impact the grocery budgets for the less-than-rich. People whose lives and financial decisions are based on budgets will start to limit any extra/luxury expenses.
