Third quarter of 2025 and Macross sequels are still missing on Disney+ for most of the world. Reminder : a global release was announced back in March 2024, effectively started summer 2024 for Asian and English audience with the last roll out in January this year for the US.

Most of the world cannot watch Macross sequels on Disney+ due to region lock and lack of translation, but most of the world might be able to enjoy SDF Macross on Crunchyroll soon. Quite hilarious. Pretty sure nobody expected that.

At least this is available nearly worldwide and not only in a few selected territories like the streaming on Disney+.

I guess either Big West don't want to team up with Crunchy "Robotech" roll, or Crunchyroll doesn't have any interest on releasing old IPs physically. In any case @alltheanime.com saved Macross again. That's a very good news for us in France. And probably the greatest news of the year for me.

Surprisingly the Macross Plus Collector's Edition (including both the OVA series and movie) is remaining an Anime Limited French exclusivity that is even not available in the UK.
Maybe that's a counterpart for not having the Macross franchise on our local Disney+😂

Whatever "global" success or "worldwide" bright future Big West might talk about, just keep in mind that the Macross franchise is streaming in less than 20 countries while Disney+ is active in more than 100. It simply does not exist outside Asia and English-speaking territories.

In case someone's still care, the #Macross franchise remains unavailable on Disney+ outside Japan, SEA and English countries. It's streaming in less than 20 countries out of the more than 100 Disney+ is active in. No statement from Big West about what went wrong, but we can guess. What a failure.

Anime Limited Macross panel in a few days. Since Disney+ and Big West are most likely not planning to release the franchise on streaming outside Japan, Asia and English countries, fingers crossed for more Macross physical announcements from ATA UK, I hope followed by ATA FR 🤞

- Pour les pays non asiatiques et non anglophones, je n'attends strictement plus rien, ils n'existent pas pour eux;
- Pour la France en particulier, mieux vaut se tourner vers la conf ATA UK en fin de mois, et espérer.

Time to watch the first episode of Gundam GQuuuuuuX on Amazon Prime. As announced, dozen of dubs and three dozens of subs. It's good to see the worldwide release well handled, contrary to Macross mess on Disney+. Take notes for the next entry, Big West.

Bon je crois que le coffret collector Macross Plus est en train de pleurer dans son coin. On notera le joli boîtier scanavo double face, les cartes différentes des visuels japonais et surtout l’épais livret intégralement traduit en français. Le poster de M. Tenjin aussi 👍

Anime Limited French brand saves the day one more time with the Macross Zero Blu-ray box French edition. Reminder that Disney+ is still excluding Macross sequels from streaming in continental Europe (and many other territories) without any statement, and with Big West remaining quiet on this issue.

Big West and Disney+ remain silent as a grave about the streaming of the Macross sequels outside Asia and English-speaking territories (which is not good sign) but at least this pavement has arrived. And the Macross Zero Blu-ray French edition is coming in a few days. Better than nothing huh ?
