If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

The Dark History of New Year's Day in American Slavery
By Olivia B. Waxman — "Of all days in the year, the slaves dread New Year's Day the worst of any," one 1842 account explained. Here's why.

Mika & Scarborough have clearly shown their willingness to 'accommodate'.

Gives me a perfect objective lesson for our walk thru the Bible's book of Revelation where accommodation is the height of evil. #revelation#christian#hypocrisy#integritymatters2me#kissingthering

Normalize inconsistency in your art. Normalize not making every art piece super detailed and intricate. Normalize just creating art for the sake of it.

Politically speaking: I've heard 2 anti-Trump yt women comment how they voted 4 him the 1st time.

Then it hit me.

The problem isn't that certain groups didn't support Harris.

The real problem is those who voted for Trump in 2016.

Which leaves me to ask 'what changed?'

He surely hasn't. 🤨⁉️

It took me several years to realize this reality.
A repeat thought, Bluesky, & a Librarian told you this so it must be true 🤣

Audiobooks definitely count as reading (as well as listening). If you've played through an audioook, its perfectly fine to describe that as "I have read [x]"

All other forms of assistive software count as reading too 💙📚

A colleague during my break today:
Lisa: You like reading?
Me reading: No.
Lisa: Really? You look like you do.
Me still reading: No. I don't read because I like to. I read because I have to.
Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
We need to get back to reading and critical thinking
Because 2024 feels different from 2016.

You’re on notice. We aren’t going anywhere. We’re not hiding.

We’re not being silent. But we are taking notes.

I feel mislead by all dystopian literature. It's supposed to be a powerful authoritarian government that lords over a cowering population, and and we just need need a few brave acts of heroism to give the people the courage to rise up.

Instead it's just half the country being dumb and mean.
