All true but Labour will struggle in the GE if they don’t keep centrist voters and failing to follow the policies they were elected on will greatly damage their prospects. I don’t want to see a Reform/Tory alliance next time and that seems increasingly likely.

I see the bigger problem is Labour came to power, backed by many centrists, because they promised funding by growth and refuted claims that they would tax and spend. They need to get back to this if they want those people to vote for the them again.

I’m expecting his support to drop off well before the election as people come to realise all he offers are big headlines and empty promises. My big concern is that the failure of Labour to address the main issues will give him victory. He is backed by the worst of America’s politicians.

Labour members, like Tory members tend to be more extreme (they gave us Truss and BJ). It’s also hardly surprising he’s unpopular so early in a parliament; all will be forgotten if in 3 years time the economy is on the up.

I think all teams have to be gamblers, as it’s never certain what will be allowed/how much degradation there will be. You may however be right. Their performance for the next 2 weeks will be interesting, it’s certainly made the championship race more exciting.

Were the big Trump supporters Russian? My guess is yes.

My guess is that they have to be close to the limits to be in the top 5 so it was a calculated gamble, which they lost. I’d be surprised to see them beat Verstappen next week, though I hope they will.

Problem is: Trump will take rejection as an insult and then actively help Russia. Beware, he needs a big story to distract from the release of the Epstein files.

Seems a good aim once we have growth in the economy to pay for it but until then pretty unwise. Every measure she takes should be towards promoting growth.

You mean: Putin’s 28 point plan!

Not necessarily a vote winner for Labour. Those in the poor areas in the Southwest,Wales and elsewhere are pretty unimpressed by politicians that seem to think everywhere south of Watford is privileged. Handouts only to the North, where they want the votes lose them votes in underprivileged areas.

I think you’re a bit mixed up. What we’re looking at here is supporting or not a government, which comprises mostly good people, but admittedly isn’t very competent and preventing a fascist populist political company from getting control. Mahmoot doesn’t want execute anyone.
November 19, 2025 at 9:50 PM
I can’t help you if you really believe that. I just hope you don’t find out just how bad a Reform government is in 3 years time.
November 19, 2025 at 9:31 AM
She has a point. For me, seeing Reform beaten is paramount and if the small boats issue reduces in prominence by doing this that may do it. She talks like she means it, something other Labour politicians seem to have lost the ability to do, and I hope her party of flip floppers don’t stop her.

You might think otherwise, if in 3 years you have a Farage government.

They realise that half hearted policies, as offered by Cooper, will lose them the next election. I don’t want to live in Britain’s version of Trump.
November 16, 2025 at 4:49 PM
I agree with you. I’ve simply realised that the sort of people currently saying they’ll vote for Farage won’t be swayed by half measures. The next election will have huge consequences and based on the US, if a right wing party has control we may not see another election.
November 16, 2025 at 4:45 PM
I fear it will be very like the Trump cult. Every failure will gain him more and more support in the anti-establishment masses.
November 16, 2025 at 2:32 PM
If you want to keep the ECHR then keep Reform and the Tories out of government. Measures as announced by Mamood are probably the only way prevent the many from putting Farage in as PM. Want to take the risk? Look what is happening in the US. Farage is their puppet.

Thank you for being a lone voice accurately describing the Danish system. Let’s at least start by understanding.
