Today's decision greenlights the worst conduct of the Los Angeles raids; masked officers rolling up at workplace sand grabbing everyone Latino and demanding their papers, people being seized at random bus stops, and a full "papers, please" society being put into place.

Sotomayor's dissent strongly suggests that we've now reached the point where it is fair advice to tell any Latino citizen in Los Angeles to carry a passport or birth certificate (or picture of one on their phone) at all times with them now, in case they're stopped by DHS or their compatriots.
