I was at a conference today wearing a mask and was asked several times if I was feeling okay. It's as if people forget that a great way to not get sick is to mask. They expect everyone in a mask to be sick. We've gone backwards. The next pandemic will show what happens without precautions.

We’ve allowed this new technology into our homes (and are excited about it) without knowing the risks.

I feel like we’re in one huge experiment that wouldn’t make it past IRB because no one can consent.

When I walk into the room and a toddler is spinning my stool, I have them put a toy on it and then tell them to spin it hard. Then I joke about learning physics when the toy shoots off.

Being a pediatrician can be so fun!

I wonder if AI would suggest ways to boost attendance, including ways to decrease the spread of infections: vaccines, HEPA filters, ventilation, and quality masks. And of course, staying home when sick.

What are they doing about all the tv shows and movies that have (gasp!) transgender actors and/or characters?

Maybe I shouldn't say this if they haven't considered it, but a lot of teens prefer screens over books.

Of course, one way to get kids to do something is to forbid it. #ReadBannedBooks

I hope that soon we'll be able to charge all those in this administration who have harmed individuals and the overall health of our communities so they can be held accountable. How long will it take for the pendulum to swing enough that the majority are wanting this and their reps listen?

The increasing racism in the country is so disturbing. I am embarrassed and angry as a white person.

New medicines are exciting but so difficult to use due to cost. When this comes to market it will probably have coupons, but there are many reasons to avoid those.

I’ve seen several recommend concerta but I will add a caution. The original was my favorite stimulant due to the unique delivery system but the generics are all different. I’ve had many patients not tolerate brand changes and it’s hard to get the same one each month so I’ve stopped prescribing it.

With this logic, only magical thinking can survive.

T’s been talking about a new plan for years. We can’t scrap the current plan until we have something better, not just an idea of a plan. How gullible are those who think that’s enough?

For some reason this makes me think of med school... there was always too much to learn, so 3x speed would have been interesting. 😆

Not only does this directly put kids at risk, states will lose physicians if they can't practice a standard of care that they are comfortable with. We're already seeing that with residency spots in states that limit access of care.

I've heard the podcast link is hard to find. It's below the picture/ad under the "Connect with Megan and Sarah" section. Direct link: kansascitymomcollective.com?powerpress_p... or find it on your favorite podcast player by searching "Kansas City Momcast" and "Navigating ADHD".
