Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv early this morning, hitting residential areas and critical infrastructure. Around 30 residential buildings were damaged across the capital. Police report one killed and 25 injured, including a pregnant woman and a child.

Overnight, Russia launched a massive air attack on Ukraine, firing 430 drones and 18 missiles, most aimed at Kyiv. The barrage included Kalibr cruise missiles, Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles, and Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

Overnight, Russia launched 128 attack drones of various types, including around 80 Shaheds, from multiple directions including Kursk, Orel, and occupied Crimea. As of 9:00 AM, Ukrainian air defense shot down or jammed 94 of them. Strikes were recorded at 11 locations.

On the evening of Nov 5, Ukraine struck a major Geran-2 (Shahed) drone base at Donetsk airport with cruise missiles and drones. An ammo depot, fuel storage, and pre-launch prep site were destroyed. Power and comms nodes damaged. Up to 1,000 drones and 1,500 warheads were reportedly on site.

Ukrainian troops call such Russian raids “flag-dumps.” On Nov 5, Russian forces staged a video raising their flag in Vovchansk, within the 57th Brigade’s zone. In reality, the group climbed a building, waved the flag, then gathered nearby, only to be struck by Ukrainian aviation.

Confirmed by Reuters: The Volgograd oil refinery has halted operations after overnight Ukrainian drone strikes. The AVT-5 unit (3.3M tons/year) caught fire, and the hydrocracker was damaged, cutting the refinery’s capacity by around 20%. This marks the sixth confirmed hit on the facility.
