Today is "Candy Character Day" at the high school I teach English at. I already had a costume picked before the theme, so I made some paper candy and the kids taped their snack wrappers to the trash panda. At the end of the day there was no trash on my floor. #trashpanda #homecoming #teacherlife

The Book Police came to my room today. They had cameras ready & were going room to room checking classroom libraries. My books are in boxes. If BIPOC & LGBTQIA books aren't allowed then my shelves will stay empty. I keep a list of banned books in my room & a guide to get a digital library card.

A Court of Thorns and Roses banned in Florida. Great book, steamy, sets up a tale of surviving an abusive relationship. Would not keep in my classroom due to content. This has not stopped kids from having it (I asked a student where she got it, Mom gave it to her after she read it). 9/10
