I think people sometimes like something as big as the MCU fail. They've had misses no doubt but going into something ready to hate it makes it impossible to enjoy any media.

It's not even that novel of a tactic. He tapped into people thinking something is wrong with the systems in place and said he would fix it by pinning the blame on perceived enemies. Without revealing that the system people loath is one that made him and he actively benefits from.

I like video games and have literally been playing them since I could hold a controller. But like anything if that is all you have with insular online communities in the mix it is really toxic to your mental health.

Obviously the alleged shooter was extremely pine but the impression I have gotten from news media is they have no idea how to deal with this level of online brain rot mixed with gaming references. It's as if online communities simply don't exist to them.
