400m rule only applies to residential development. Commercial development (and care homes) are possible close to SPAs.

Millions of these are bred and released for shooting every year in the UK. They are a menace in rural gardens, nipping off shoots, then the ones that survive are a plague on the local wildlife. Many that are shot aren’t even eaten - just buried in pits. Odd to see them viewed as rare and beautiful!
