I am an American. Yesterday, 8/21, I donated my 99th pint of blood to support Sickle Cell research. It was my mom’s 109th b’day. She was a teacher in a one room school in rural WI. I donate because she could not as she had hepatitis. My tiny effort to make life better.

Books read in June . The Lumberjane books are very creative, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees was wicked fun. The 1619 Project, The Message, The Light of Days were thought provoking. Leslie Jones memoir was delightful, the audiobook was read by her. 1/2

Wonderful show by Chuck Prophet and The Cumbia Shoes at Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts on May 31, 2025. A hoot despite the wind and rain (though I know Chuck was disappointed there was no thunder.) Opening act, Jesse Rubin, was great fun as well.

This artist has a series of paintings influenced by a Dvorak opera. He said he was moved by the completely unconditional love of the opera protagonist.

Books read in April—crazy assortment—James was masterful and The Savage Noble Death of Babs Dionne was stunning. Enjoyed listening to Amy Tan reading The Backyard Bird Chronicles. The Art Thief was quirky. #BookSky

As I work to keep my anxiety at bay (manifests as almost total inaction) I listened to this while walking McDuff. Totally enchanting! #Booksky

Is anyone reading this book? Granted, it is kind of shutting the barn door after the horses are gone, but it gives me words to describe my frustration with politicians and our political system.
