I would argue that it is more of social media's fault.
Phones ARE useful in the sense that kids can call in case of emergency and all that.
Tiktok, Instagram, and Snapchat are really to blame here. You could say "oh the apps should be 18+" yeah, but thats not gonna stop a kid from faking age.
