Snow day!

Passed a man on the sidewalk who was pushing a chihuahua in a stroller. I mentioned the dog was cute and the man replied “he’s 18 years old, has no teeth, and hates everyone including me.” I want one.

Today I’m thankful for my grandmother’s chocolate pie recipe. It feels like a little piece of security amidst the chaos.

I will admit I bought @sarahbethdurst.bsky.social’s The Spellshop because the cover was so beautiful. I’m so glad I did. It was exactly the book I needed to get me through the last week. What a glimmer of inspiration and hope amidst all the darkness.

After 3 days of working the same puzzle, I discovered a duplicate edge piece that doesn’t fit anywhere in the puzzle. I suspect there are also at least two missing middle pieces. This is why I have trust issues. #puzzles

Finished The Great Bridge last night and I cannot stop thinking about it. The parallels between the Gilded Age and today are uncanny, but in the end, it left me feeling hopeful. There were still decent people trying to do the right things then, and the same is true today. #Booksky
