I do blame MLB and the Astros and I’m not sure why one of their star players should be exempt from my ire. He knew it was wrong and stayed silent while he benefited.

And yes, even if he didn’t actively participate he benefited as their teammate and had a duty to speak out as it happened.

They do this while getting dirty, dangerous cars off their street - improving their immediate air quality, and providing shade and safety for anybody who wants to walk around the walls of their own home.

Great work Paris!!!

Each of these residents that traded their car in for a bike are now saving hundreds in monthly payments, insurance, registration, much less likely to suffer or inflict a grievous injury, and are benefitting from increased exercise, sunlight, and socialization.

There are tens of millions of immigrants running around raping our women, murdering our cops, and voting in elections (citation needed).

Therefore it is totally reasonable to put them all in camps where we can do whatever we want to the democracy defiling murderer-rapists!

Land isn’t really property the way something that is created is property. Land ownership is a suite of privileges and obligations between the landowner and the state. Discounting taxes over time does not happen in a vacuum, it raises land prices.

Prop 13 is NOT and never has been a tax cut.

The cost of the Astros 2017 Championship is to be persistent and eternal pariahs, treated scornfully even in situations when it is usually unacceptable to do so. Don’t judge the sports world for this - I guarantee you if it was any other Blue Jay the crowds would not have cheered.

Blame MLB.

George Springer perpetrated a fraud against the sport. MLBs failure to punish them guaranteed that his professional colleagues and fans across the sport would take punishment into their own hands, as a certain % of people will do when they feel the system has failed.

I’m sure a significant subject of their podcast can request both the transcript and the recording if they reach out to Crooked Media.

I do think the DOJ has massively overreacted, based on my early impressions of this story.

If these three were paid for their participation, they probably do have criminal liability. If they texted a friend who texted a group chat, that’s an internal NBA matter, not a criminal story.
October 24, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Again, long ways to go in this story, but I’m worried the media is following the traditional gambling narrative that applied to scandals like Rose and Donaghy. Even if the DOJ can’t prove a big scheme, this is essentially fraud. They should get treated like an embezzler or a scammer.
October 24, 2025 at 7:22 PM
They’re targeting players for what are stupid but ultimately flippant texts to friends. I’m worried this should be a Civil Matter (Sportsbooks vs Players), and an internal NBA matter, I’m not sure I trust the DOJs motivations for arresting these black athletes.
October 24, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Agreed 100%

I’m also concerned that the laws on the books regarding fixed gambling are way too harsh to govern these crimes. Obviously we will learn more as the DOJ presents its case but this huge investigation and prosecution seems to be over $7M.

Whelp Chris, want to go monitor the monitors?

The author this piece pretty explicitly admits that they did it for money.
October 20, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Would you or the authors be willing to share the prompts they used for the records requests?

I’d love to do a similar analysis in my hometown but am nervous to spend too much time and energy doing so just to get denied by the PD.

That political pressure threatened to put Israel on an actual island as a rogue state, without even the US as friends.

They can’t survive without us, so they ended their genocide early, to ensure their survival.

Thank you to pro-Palestinian MAGAs for making this possible!
