Under any administration, Republican or Democratic, the United States government exists to serve the people of the United States, regardless of their partisan affiliation. ... Donald Trump has repeatedly tried to claim he has powers the Constitution does not give to the POTUS. And this is especially dangerous when it comes to voting, given his track record. We the people must have the right to choose their leaders, not the other way around. Tonight, another federal district judge stood up for the rule of law and for democracy, telling a power hungry president, "No." It's good news when a judge blocks Donald Trump's autocratic intentions. Here, it's big news. While the administration will likely appeal, Judge Kollar-Kotelly has made plain that this case falls within a basic rule, that when the language of the law is clear, the courts look no further. The Constitution explicitly says states and Congress set the rules for elections, not the president. Donald Trump cannot do whatever he wants to, because Donald Trump is not a king. The rule of law still stands.

Vought was a key player in the construction of Project 2025, the plan to gut the nonpartisan federal government and replace it with a dominant president and a team of loyalists who will impose religious rule on the United States. Vought was recording saying that he was secretly writing a blueprint of executive orders, memos, and regulations that DJT could enact immediately upon taking office a second time. He assured [his interlocutors] that Trump was only disavowing Project 2025 for political reasons. "In reality, Trump is 'very supportive of what we do.'"

Of all the poison pills hidden in the House's Big Ugly Bill, this may be the most lethal one. Take away the federal courts' ability to hold Trump officials in contempt for flouting court orders, and you've legislated yourself a king 👑

About the obviously false height —

If he admits he’s under 6’3”, then his calculated BMI would be in the obese range. And that is UNACCEPTABLE.

(And his weight is anyone’s guess. He’s visibly less fat than he was, and I doubt it’s due to diet and exercise)
