Adam Schlesinger was an exceptional songwriter. He had this ability to write a new song that felt like it was from another time. That Thing You Do! is a 50s-era bop and songs from Music & Lyrics are a perfect homage to Wham! As a songwriter myself, I was always in awe of his talent.
