Thank you to everyone who joined our Post-BACP AGM Forum last week.
We’ve had some really positive feedback about the forum, with people finding it useful to have a supportive space to share experiences and reflections after the BACP AGM.

PCU were privileged to meet Nadia Whittome MP. We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to make Nadia aware of our campaigns.

PCU were represented by Executive Committee Members Dr Marilyn McGowan, School Counselling Lead, and Liz Martin, International Officer and Campaigns Lead.

PCU were privileged to meet Kim Johnson MP. We were delighted to have had the opportunity to make Kim aware of our campaigns and discuss the specifics of some of the difficulties and challenges our members face within our profession.

The next meeting of the SCoPEd Campaign group is Friday 7th November, at 5pm, via Zoom. This PCU led group campaigns against the unjust and unfair way that SCoPEd is being implemented.

PCU opposes right wing attempts to use the safety of women as a weapon to spread racism & division. Our EC has signed an open letter calling for an end to the harmful & misleading narratives that link asylum seekers with sexual abuse.

We have updated our Fair Deal Charter for EAP affiliate therapists.
EAP work has become an important income stream for many therapists, but session fees have stagnated - in some cases, even fallen.

If you’re a BACP member, you have until 5pm on Friday 15 August 2025 to cast your vote in the Trustee Election.

Now more than ever is it important to vote for candidates committed to brining in positive change and make BACP a more accountable and democratic organisation.

We are relieved that the government is now reviewing its plans to cut vital disability benefits, following a rebellion by Labour MPs. These proposed changes risked huge consequences for disabled people, impacting both our members and the people that our members work with in their practice.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign have organised an emergency demonstration for Palestine. They are creating a red line for Palestine around Parliament during Prime Minister's questions to demand a full arms embargo and sanctions on Israel.
