I had an instructor in college that said that while some states were created by geography, others by a common language or religion. The United States was a state created by shared experience. I should have realized that many people don’t know this.

We all know who Thomas Jefferson and the founders meant by “all men”. Could they have guessed how much the meaning of those words would change in 250 years?

I feel like the founders left a couple of things out.
1. Congress shall make no law that games the system so they don’t lose elections. And
2. We are a democratic republic.

I can remember growing up in Orange County in the 60s and 70s. We used to drive up to Big Bear and get above the smog. You just can’t imagine what it looked like.
