My intentions are good, and earnest, and true, but under my hood... Satan is my motor. Hear my motor purr.
Do you think there's someone at Google who thought he laid the perfect trap for time travelers by flagging searches like "what year is it" and "today's date," and is instead disappointed that he's only catching stoners that forget what year it is?

Me too.

That is hilarious and terrible that they found a "work around" for the anti overdraft laws. What bank is this? You ought to find another...
So if you're opted out, and a charge hits that would overdraft your account, the system still processes the transaction taking your account negative, but then rejects it and credits that amount back to your account but because you hit a negative balance, an overdraft fee is still charged

I've gone "camping" for the weekend in a cabin, a half hour from the closest town. Brought loads of dehydrated food, but I forgot a stove to boil water for the food. Ah well, I brought sandwiches too.

Time is a slippery slope. One day you're listening to your favorite song while walking down the halls of your high school, the next day that same song pops up on the oldies radio station on your drive home from work.

I believe in the Great Filter theory of the Fermi paradox. I think we're living it right now - once a society can make weapons capable of wiping everyone out then they don't pass the filter until there's an independent colony on another planet. We've got awhile to go before we hit that stage.

You know what's going to drive me to piracy? Paramount+'s shitty app. It's consistently bad across the four platforms I've used it on. I love the content, and I keep it (for now) to watch Star Trek, but the app experience is just. So. Terrible.

Netflix and other streaming services should let you select more than one profile at once. Everyone that's present has their "save list" displayed, everyone has the content marked as watched. Maybe a new category, "items on everyone's list," too.

Transporter Chiefs in Star Trek must have the best gossip. They overhear so much interesting stuff.

Why do we say rom-coms, but not sci-coms?

Now hear me out: make a drink that's half sparkling water, a quarter lemonade, and a quarter cherry Pepsi. It's amazing. I'm calling it the Dane. I'm going to make millions in licensing rights.

Mechanical keyboards in a work environment are the bane of my existence. Listening to the person I share an office with click clack away all day typing reports is slowly driving me insane.

Today I assaulted a police officer. The chief, even. I threw a pie in his face, for charity. It was a good day.

My phone thinks it knows better than me when it comes to Wi-Fi. If I connect to a network that doesn't have Internet connectivity then it will drop the Wi-Fi and prefer 5g. That's incredibly infuriating when I'm trying to connect to my router to troubleshoot.

Someone yelled "live long and prosper, Dane!" Out their window as I pulled into the drug store. I've no idea who.

I'm surprised Trump didn't hear the sniper and move out of the way. He was within earshot, after all.

... I'll see myself out.

My new $50 projector has exceeded my (admittedly quite low) expectations. Currently watching the Back To The Future trilogy on it

I've named my BBQ Grilliam. My wife keeps giving me funny looks when I refer to it.

The rental I was in finally gave a move out report. The "damages" and "cleaning costs" conveniently line up with exactly what my deposit was. I broke the lease so I wasn't getting it back anyway, but it's good to know I made the right decision.

There's something ironic about taking a break while watching Twister to go out and enjoy the unexpected rainfall.

My phone background is now the Aurora Borealis as visible from my back yard. I'll just go ahead and add that one to the bucket list, then check it off.
