Happy Halloween from PCI 🎃👻!! We celebrated this year with a spooky dance party 💃🕺at our Downtown Sebastopol office where we were joined by trick-or-treaters from the community and plenty of awesome costumes! 🎃🎃

PCI provided design, planning biology, and construction services to stabilize an eroding stream bank that threatened nearby homes while enhancing native riparian vegetation to bolster stream resilience. See our instagram and facebook pages for more detail!

PCI Ecological is working with the Tomales Bay Foundation and Marin County Parks on restoring wetlands at Chicken Ranch Beach near Inverness. Non-native trees were removed by Conservation Corps North Bay and Glissman Excavating is currently working to build enhanced wetland and riparian areas.

PCI’s biology team is supporting dewatering and native species relocation in the project area at Iron Horse Vineyards! Special-status species shown here include coho salmon, steelhead, and California freshwater shrimp. The team also encountered plenty of native sculpin, stickleback, and tree frogs.

Fish relocation is a critical step for in-stream construction projects. As required by the applicable permits, fish relocation occurs prior to in-stream activities to protect sensitive aquatic species that may be present. Here are some photos from a recent relocation effort with @nature.org

PCI offers a range of hydrologic and water quality monitoring services that support science-based ecological conservation and restoration.

Site-specific datasets are used to understand existing conditions, physical/biological opportunities and constraints, and project effectiveness.
