Apologies for the long silence. New job and all is making it hard to keep up with social media. As a penalty I post bobcat kittens carried by their mom

Ever since I showed her the pictures and videos of the rattlesnake I saw during fieldwork she is obsessed with them. We alternate between YouTube videos like @rattlesnakes.bsky.social and livestreams.

...I am excited for what the future brings for me as this is a much needed change for both mental health, stability and growth. The trail camera images are not going anywhere so don't worry about that though.

In some personal news, Predator Detection and Deterrence as well as any other independent human-wildlife conflict I do will stop operations on June 15th. I am still taking clients but my goal is to leave everyone with a sustainable long term plan by June 15th. It's sad but...

Chicken people really text you at 5 am telling you that new product has arrived like it's some sort of drug deal.

Coyotes are often considered to be the biggest contributor to livestock depredation and while regionally that might be true, more often than not feral dog kills are also attributed to coyotes. I find that a lot of people underestimate the spread of feral dogs in semiurban locations. 🧪🦊📷

Man I love this capture so much even if it's in pink and with a messed up angle. The coyote approaching the elk herd that was bedded down by the water trough is just cool to me. 📷🦊🧪

Picturesque background? check. Coyote? Check. Camera IR malfunction? Also check. Still it lends itself to a certain pinkish charm. 📷🦊🧪

This year's Carrizo Plain deployments may have been wrecked by elk but it was also the highest frequency of American Badgers caught on cameras so that's something. Especially because they are so cool looking. 🧪🦊📷
