The intensity of smoking in this is off the hook... kindergarten scene? Sparks up.

there is a story! A Porsche anorak (amongst his large, large collection of car anoraks) on a bike forum found this:

there's just something about the image, there are stories in there... the grubiness of the time, the dishevelled astrakhan coat, very Withnail.

Is there a tale about the car's story to tell do you think? @carpervert.bsky.social

Also correlates with people dropping out of the discourse, so they have to 'Go Big' with the hot takes to get any attention...

...it doesn't end well.

Almost certainly WH Smiths in Sutton Coldfield. As fascinated by the liner notes, photography, gatefold etc. as the music... who knew I'd end up a graphic designer?

Tontine Square, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Curious if it is the same reference... Were there speculative investors in the Potteries heyday? Do any historians know, friends of @oddthisday.bsky.social @garius.bsky.social? - asking the internet now just invites AI hallucinations that I don't trust :-(

Which company has the highest index of 'didn't appreciate it at the time' leaving enthusiasts paying through the nose for examples years later, having barely shifted any at the time? Honda have a strong shout.

Just glad the reviewers determined the 'e' was a failure allowing us to afford an example. It oozes quality and screw the cost. Currently trying to determine if the VFR800 is another example - they seem great value, bikers are notoriously conservative when it comes to change, and it never caught on.

I enjoy the appreciation that Honda sometimes say bollocks, let's do this right, and make lovely, lovely things...

Speaking of the RMEU, I seem to recall the newsletter enthusing wildy about Lily Allen's debut LP... and then years later you fessing up feeling ashamed about that take (is this accurate?). Any change on reflection? I stuck it on yesterday after her new one and must confess... its a banger.

don't know about films, but in real life it was the response to the assasination attempt on Reagan
